A Good Haul...

Woo! My Christmas vacation in London was sure a perfect way to end a fantastic year... The sales were excellent, I had tons of fun with my friends, and the best part, I came back with amazing key pieces for my university wardrobe for the spring term...

Firstly, I got the Prada sfumata vernice tote after a thorough examination of all the different possibilities on sale... The Lanvin 48 hours bag was just ridiculously big that it actually did look like a proper weekender bag, unlike my Balenciaga which can still be used for lectures and stuff. And the Mulberry Piccadilly? Too damn heavy for its own good.

And I loooove the Prada sfumata after seeing it in person. The colour gradation of the patent leather, the size of the bag and the overall look of the bag sealed the deal for me when I managed to snag the final piece at Prada Selfridges.

I also got my dream pair of ankle boots from Dior Homme at Selfridges. A gorgeous pair of grey calfskin ankle boots with a stacked heel.

Adding to that list, I also bought a beautiful pair of black deerskin Miu Miu Chelsea boots from Harvey Nichols.

I also bought a black Nicole Farhi pea coat with adorable nautical buttons, a sea blue quilted Barbour jacket that's oh-so-Sloane Ranger, socks from Kenzo, Burberry and Calvin Klein, new undies from Calvin Klein, a Crabtree & Evelyn Nantucket Briar gift set, tea from Whittard and Harrods, a new Filofax refill for my LV agenda, and some cat figurines for my windowsill.

All in all, I think I got a pretty good haul from the sales. Here's to a new year, and to even more fabulous shopping!

Decisions... Decisions...

Sigh, two more weeks till I head on down to London... Until then, I have to work on balancing my time between applications for law firm vacation schemes and coursework. Bleargh.

That doesn't mean I haven't been obsessing on my Christmas shopping list though. I decided that I need a new black winter coat. I actually really want a full length Matrix-style coat, but I can't seem to find one anywhere... The closest I've seen are the knee-length winter coats from Next.

I also want to get a new black or navy blazer to wear casually or out to dinner etc.

The thing is, should I compromise my spending money alloted to the bag purchase for the other things that I want to get?

Christmas Shopping List (so far)
1. Dior Homme ankle boots in grey or black - £360 retail (hopefully will be on sale)
2. Lanvin/Prada/Bottega Veneta/McQueen/Mulberry bag - £ who knows???
3. Balenciaga square embroidered pin in black - £45
4. Black winter coat
5. Navy/black blazer
6. Presents for C, G, N and S.

Taking Chances...

Just got back from town with Celine Dion's new CD ensconced in my Dior camel Baudrier... Woo! My neighbours are in for a world of loud karaoke-style singing emanating from my room...

Poor guys...

Which bag? Which bag?

If there's one thing I love about London, (in fact, there are many things I love about London, but let's not get into that...), it's the Christmas sales. Every holiday season I head on down to my favourite city in the world to snag as many designer goods as my hands can carry, and my wallet can afford.
This year, am planning my shopping systematically and strategically. I want to get the most I can out of my budget, and this means I have to prioritise. Now, every year I get at least two new designer bags, one during each fashion season. And it's time again to decide on which one I'm going to go with for the Fall/Winter collections... The problem is, I honestly cannot decide on which...
There's the absolutely gorgeous Lanvin 48 hours in leather and fabric (also available in patent leather and satin)... But I'm not very sure how much it's going for. If I'm not wrong, it's about £800 plus at Harvey Nichols...

Then there's the Prada sfumata vertical tote/briefcase-type bag in patent leather that would really make a statement with the colour gradation...

There's the Mulberry Piccadilly bag in printed Conga leather in chocolate or black, which kind of reminds me of the Hermes Birkin in a travel size, going for £795.
The Damier Azur Naviglio messenger bag is quite cute too, although it's not very big, and it's in canvas, not leather... £455
The Dior Homme leather messenger bag in washed lambskin and wool tassel does look kinda cool, and it would go with the Dior Homme ankle boots that I had my eye on... £665
Sigh, I'm open to other suggestions if anyone has any...
